The Bay valves team is a highly skilled group of engineers with extensive knowledge within Fluid Dynamic. We continuously strive for excellence, improving on safety and functionality.
BAY Valves is located in Nyborg, Denmark, close to the place of the invention of the High Velocity valve in the year 1971 – an expert community and knowledge center within cargo tank ventilation, especially within the field of High velocity valves and P-V valves, like the brand new SuperSat.
Regulating chemical transport at sea – the IBC Code
The latest revision – IBC code 2020, with effect from January 2021 – introduces stricter demands for tank pressure for a range of chemical cargo types. While previously 231 substances were classified as toxic, the new list includes 429 substances. If you are transporting methanol, diethylene glycol, MIBK, nonyl alcohol, n-propyl alcohol, octanol, or other products added to the list, you need to assert yourself that your vessel is up for the task.
The exact implications of the new IBC code will always depend on the design and installed equipment of the specific vessel. Bay Valves will be happy to provide a free-of-charge assessment of your vessel.
