IBC Gas group IIB upgrade
IMO MSC.1/Circ.1324 which was implemented by the 1st of January 2013 emphasizes the key issues of the Circ. 677 relating to cargo gas groups and test media. In short, all chemical tankers that has specific cargoes on their cargo list needs to have P-V valves tested and approved accordingly. In practice this means that the bulk of the present chemical tanker fleet needs to have new or upgraded valves approved to gas group IIB / MESG 0,65 installed latest at the first dry-docking after 1. January 2013 opening up a 5 year time window to comply.
For the vessels fitted with the High velocity valves of our own make, we will issue a Declaration of Conformity for the pressure side valve, and deliver a new flame filter element which can easily be installed on-site without removing the valves from the tanks.
For vessels fitted with other types/manufacturer of valves, please use below form and submit
